You have to seize the opportunity, ask as many questions as you can, and expect to work hard to prove that you can do it. Site management is a physically demanding job that often involves working long hours, but it is extremely rewarding to see the development come together, and it leaves you with an incredible feeling when you hand over apartments to customers, knowing that you helped to create the place they will call home. The future for St James and Berkeley Group is exciting. We have just formed a new joint venture with National Grid called St William, and this will open up new sites across London, and give me the opportunity to progress my career and widen my experience across the whole range of products. The Group is strong financially, with no gearing and an exceptionally strong forward sales position. We are in a good position to ride out any storm, should Brexit create long term uncertainty. Winning this award means a lot to me, and I will use this as a springboard to even greater things.
