Build Magazine April 2016

Build Magazine 51 As a key supplier, access to the site was needed between the hours of 4pm and 10pm on what remained a very busy, functioning train station throughout the build. At a time when most commuters are heading home, these supplies were making their way to the station through the centre of London with carefully planned timed deliveries. Thankfully, dis- ruption was kept to a minimum as work continued on the platforms. With the overarching role of the Thameslink project expected to improve the frequency of departures and arrivals in the capital, the intensive work going on above and below ground at London Bridge station is seeing unprecedented focus on keeping the station fit for the future. And with the ongoing work being conducted on its drainage systems, the station will soon be ready for whatever the weather can throw at it.
