Build Magazine December 2015

Build Magazine 60 What does your business specialise in? Interior architecture, product and exhibition design mainly for companies, museums or or- ganisations in many different business fields. Who do you aim your services at? From new retail concepts for a Swiss bank to a demonstration auditorium at the Vetsuisse Faculty at the University of Zurich. From very small sandwich-bars to big offices or shop- pingcenters. Local wine producers as well as global players in the field of sanitary products. But in the end, it’s always people that are interested in tailor-made solutions for a unique interior or exhibition booth that communicates something about their corporate values. What makes you unique? Our aim is to bring a natural curiosity back into day-to-day life using simple, everyday phenomena. While striving to tackle con- temporary problems by taking an innovative approach,
the human factor plays as much of a central role in their work as business man- agement analysis. Every project managed by Bureau Hindermann is based on a thorough analysis of the workflows and communication framework of the individual customer. Con- sultation is therefore an extremely important aspect. Because the change of direction and fresh image which Bureau Hindermann gives each customer are not meant as mere improvements, but are intended to express, both internally and externally, the customer’s corporate strategy. What is the biggest challenge facing you at present? To deal with less sunshine and longer nights without getting November depressions. What’s the aim for your business? To help companies sell more products, get more satisfied clients and reduce personnel turnover. But also to create an environment, for example in an exhibi- tion that conveys complex content to the visitor in an interesting and simple way. What’s your company’s biggest challenge at the moment? As a small company it’s challenging to compete with larger offices and agencies, especially when it comes to bigger enter- prises or corporations as clients. What business person do you the most admire and why? Peter Zumthor: While having in mind the big picture, he manages not to lose sight of detail and succeeds in creating a holistically appealing atmosphere.
