Based in Faversham, Kent, Cook Associates work extensively in London and have had projects in Scotland, Wales, Sweden, Holland and France. Operating internationally, the firm has staff who are able to communicate in English, French, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic. In terms of design, Cook Associates have particular interest in timber frame and prefabrication and are long standing members of the Timber Research and Development Association. Cook Associates have the capacity and experience to design one-off timber frame for manufacture by carpentry/ joinery workshops as well as more traditionally using timber frame specialists. Schemes vary from domestic one-off houses to multi-million pound high-rise residential schemes, retail, offices, hotels, hostels, student housing, factories, lecture theatres, teaching studios and libraries. New build, conversion, regeneration, historic, listed and old properties all form part of the firm’s portfolio. As testimony to their flexibility and collaborative abilities, Cook Associates’ Architects work both with our ‘in-house’ Engineers and also other Engineering Consultants where employment by the client. Peter Cook leads the architecture division and is supported by Samuel Bowman and an experienced team of Architects and Architectural Assistants working on projects up to £23 million in value. One of the firm’s architects, Richard George is an accredited Conservation Architect and has also worked on the Palace of Westminster.
