83 2017 Architecture Awards Build uriosity are specialised in the creation of a spatial identity that expresses the core identity of the brand, as well as making the brand relevant in the present. The firm aims to project this identity into the future to ensure the perception of the brand is always moving forward. Nicolas outlines the firm’s overall mission and how staff work together to reach their goals. “Curiosity concentrates on creating a new identity for fashion brands. This requires a lot of work from the firm in understanding the history of the brand. More importantly, however, it is vital to project the image of brand into a vision that will be relevant over the next few years. This means it cannot be just about trends and being attuned with the mood and style of the time but also requires to staff to look ahead and anticipate the next development. For the brand to be successful, the identity must be clear, with a true vision. “There are a lot of times when the client may request the firm focuses on the present, rather than the future. It is difficult to find clients and partners who challenge themselves and want to go beyond their comfort zone.” Regarding the future of the firm, Nicolas explains how the company are always exploring new projects, looking to expand the business. Curiosity is interested in finding new clients who will challenge themselves and enter unknown territories with staff. “Looking ahead, Curiosity is always looking for new opportunities in fashion or other areas in retail, which would see clients willing to challenge themselves and ourselves into unknown territories. The firm is currently developing a new concept for Moncler, Tods and Moynat to name a few, a lot of these concepts will be realised at the end of the year or next year. “As well as these concepts, we are also working on larger projects like hotels, where the client was very interested in the different approach from the firm concerning retail.
