16 BUILD / August 2017 , Decorating the Universe Jorge Canete’s studio, Interior Design Philosophy recently won the prestigious Interior Designer of the Year – Switzerland award, after which took the opportunity to profile his esteemed work Jorge Canete’s studio, Interior Design Philosophy won the residence category of the IIDA Global Excellence Awards, an international interior design competition honouring the best in interior design projects from around the world. The award ceremony took place at Maison & Objet in Paris, back in in January 2012. Jorge gained his diploma in Interior Design from the London Metropolitan University. Thereafter, he was involved in several projects in the offices of architects in Rome and in Geneva served as springboards giving him the impetus to found his own design studio, Interior Design Philosophy, some years ago. Success was not long in coming: prestigious firms and an important private clientele asked him to decorate their universe, according to his characteristic philosophy: build on a poetic vision of the world to give material expression to an emotion that comes from the interior.
