Build 2017 Women in BUILD Awards 10 ince its inception, Sequoia London have successfully completed projects in the UK and Internationally, including projects in Dubai, Riyadh, New Delhi, Mumbai, New York, Washington DC and the South of France. Some of its renowned previous commissions include projects in some of London’s most prestigious addresses, such as Mayfair, Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Kensington and Chelsea, St Johns Wood and Marylebone. Radhika discusses how the practice works to ensure excellence for all clients and how it has grown since the beginning. “Here at Sequoia London, our multidisciplinary studio consists of award winning Interior Designers, RIBA qualified Architects, Project Managers and Specialist FF and E Designers, each handpicked to be part of the Sequoia London team both for their excellence in their field and commit- ment to client service. “As a specialist practice, Sequoia London works exclusively with HNW and UHNW clients on luxury residential properties. From property sourc- ing through to FF&E fitting, the knowledge and expertise of our team allows for a seamless process through a single point of contact. All of our teams sit alongside each other and work in tandem on each project from day one. Every project has one lead contact and a dedicated team, from concept to completion, so everyone is always on the same page, communication is clear and deadlines are met.” With regards to its workforce, Sequoia London is dedicated to supporting women in the workplace, and this comes from the very top, as Radhika herself is passionate about promoting, supporting and encouraging women in business. She wrote a blog on “Women Inspiring Women” published in the Huffington Post, speaks at women’s conferences and continues to mentor women looking to start their own business and grow existing ones within the design industry. Additionally, Radhika is also the Founder and Co-Chair of TiE Women, part of the London Chapter of the non-profit association TiE, dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship among women in the London Area as well as globally and also serves as a Board Member of TiE London. She discusses how her firm works to promote equality internally, and what changes she would like to see in the wider market to support women. “Sequoia London is a split of men and women across both our full time employed staff and our consultants, we believe strongly that balance is fundamental to our continued growth and success. “Within the industry, more does need to be done to support women, and going forward I would like to see more women who have succeeded in the industry be mentors. Finding guidance and support in fellow entrepreneurs who inspire me has helped me become stronger, think smarter, challenge my own boundaries and set new ones. I think this shift we are making towards empowerment is part of the reason we are seeing such a rise in Female Entrepreneurs and it’s important for me and women like me to advise and support the younger generation of aspiring women entrepre- neurs out there, so they too can become leaders one day and know they are not alone.” Ultimately, the future looks bright for Sequoia London, as the practice looks poised to continue flourishing and providing true luxury for its clients, as Radhika is proud to conclude. “Overall, 2017 has been a busy year for us. We have recently opened an affiliate office in New York and have plans to launch our Dubai and New Delhi offices in 2018. Some of our current London projects include the complete refurbishment of a 7,000-square foot Townhouse in Bel- gravia London, the conversion of a single-family unit into 2, 3 bedroom townhouses and Internationally, we are redesigning and furnishing luxury private residences in Dubai, Riyadh, New Delhi and New York.
