These hard to recycle plastics are being collected kerbside, recycled in a new innovative recycling plant and are creating an alternative to plywood. This project has enabled VSMM to work with over 10 stakeholders, gaining input, organising PR pieces and collaborating to create an impact for all. The change this will make for the environment and the local economy within the area will support change for current and future generations. Recycling as a whole has many who are supportive; the confusion lies within lack of consistency and misinformation. Education is key to making change and this is what VSMM endeavours to do. Plastic is a resource, paper is a resource, all material is a resource – if managed well and not burnt, exported or buried (although landfill mining does have potential).
