The team believes that every project has its own characteristic, either from the client’s requirements or the site context. Site context or site characteristics are quite common, and are increasingly becoming the firm’s trigger point for their design concept, which helps JB Architects & Designers to create truly unique final results. Alongside its private work, as part of its commitment to giving back to society, the firm is also currently participating in some government or NGO projects on a non-profit basis. Among the firm’s recent undertakings is its work on a 1500sq.m. independent house in Macau. The architectural side of the project will be completed in July 2018 and the interior works will be commenced in due course. JB Architects & Designers is responsible for full scope of design for the architecture, interior and landscape of the project. This innovative project is located in the “heritage protection zone” in Macau, the outlook of which was styled suit the Portugal context and required special approval from the government. However, the integration of Portuguese elevation with modern facilities and materials in the harmony way is not an easy job. As such, JB Architects & Designers has adopted the design concept of “Endless Macau” which skilfully makes a crossover between Classic and Modern, Chinese and Western, which perfectly reflects the culture and history of Macau. The firm believes that this architecture will never be outdated and can last forever, and as such it is the core focus of the unique design it has crafted for the project. Despite its incredible success, over the past 10 years, JB Architects & Designers’ has kept low key and been passive in its business development, gaining most of its clients by word of mouth and referrals. However, starting from 2018, the firm has moved to a much bigger office and will be working to enhance its reputation and showcase its talent so that the team can work on even more unique projects over the years to come.
