BUILD 2019 Architecture Awards 76 May19126 ex Hawkesworth creates an innovative style of modern housing known as neo-vernacular which, unlike its predecessors, is built in a number of styles, as seen in the images. On the left are four flats in Portsmouth built in the 1980s. In the centre are two townhouses also in Portsmouth in the late 1990s. Finally, on the right are two townhouses on the outskirts of Portsmouth which were built around 20 years later, well into the 21st Century.
