H Recently the firm completed a small addition/renovation to a small 1940’s farm house. The owner is incredibly sensitive to environmental and chemical toxins and the original house, which belonged to her parents, was full of mould and mildew. Getting the interior of the building clear of all toxic substances was a significant challenge for Stott Architecture, but the outcome is a LEED certified Gold that meets her needs. Now the owner can sleep at night and wake up in the morning without a headache and enjoy clear sinuses and clear thinking for the first time in many years thanks to this dedicated team and their innovative approach. As part of its drive towards enhancing its portfolio of happy clients and expertly completed projects, the firm is currently working on a mixed-use 34,000 square foot addition to a project it completed in 2013, The Suffolk Theatre. The original project converted a 1933 Deco Movie /theatre into a cabaret style performing art theatre with table chairs food and beverages, the only public venue of this type on Long Island. Stott Architecture always knew that the stage needed more space and now, with the planned 20-foot extension, green rooms, dressing rooms and storage, the entertainment venue will reach its full potential. In addition, the owner will reap the benefit of 5,000 square feet of commercial space and 28 apartment units to supplement the income of the theatre. Looking ahead, this project and others will drive Stott Architecture to even greater success.
