A whole commitment to success such as this can perhaps best be exemplified and shown in one of Dawn Christine, Architect PLLC’s most recent projects, entitled “From Standard to Stately”. In this project, the client wanted to transform a standard L-shaped staircase into a more grand affair. Designing a grand staircase in new construction is not as challenging as creating one within the confines of an existing home. The redesigned staircase needed to address both the geometrical limitations and the aesthetic goals whilst still fitting nicely within an existing stair hall. Though it was challenging to overcome these limitations and still be fluid and beautiful, Dawn Christine, Architect PLLC founds itself creating a truly one-of-a-kind feature that stands out as the epitome of grand. In tackling these challenges head on, the team was able to create a custom-made staircase that was custom fit with each and every curve being designed specifically for the home in which it now lives. Not only is the “From Standard to Stately” staircase a functional one, but it is also a beautiful sculptural piece of art. The layering of curves not only gives prominence to the entrance, but also creates a sense of architectural poetry that waves throughout the entirety of the redesigned home. “From Standard to Stately” is just one instance of the firm’s constant brilliance, and a shining example of its overall goal to always try and help clients realize the full potential of their project whilst meeting all the wants and needs. The way in which it achieves this is though its VII Phase Design Process, and through founder Dawn’s unique approach to design. D Dawn is an experiential architect, designing buildings from the perspective of how one might experience space and form. Most architects design the form, and then think of how the space fits inside the form. When Dawn is generating a concept, she is always thinking about what each client needs and how they will experience the architecture as they move from one space to the next, both physically and visually. She then layers each perspective upon the next, and essentially builds a multi-faceted, three-dimensional canvas that inspires and evokes emotion. As a result, the home becomes a series of places which offer an invitation to embrace both the sacred and the common moments in time. This is experiential architecture at its finest. Good house architecture can result in a nice place to live in, but Dawn’s superb architectural results create spaces in which homeowners can effortlessly move through and create a lifetime of memories. The style, the space, and the form are married exquisitely into an architectural experience that is hard to beat.
