One of the latest projects for Archipix by SPP was the capture of the former DDR plattenbau estate of Halle-neustadt in East Germany. The purpose of this project was to record the current state and evolution of the formally model communist East German city. “The work shows the planning and architectural significance of this now 60-year development and how that still has relevance today,” Stephen elaborates. “The challenges faced included capturing the sites in a way that represented their former high status within the DDR whilst also capturing the more than 30 years of neglect experienced and the roots of what is becoming its re-use and adaption.” Working within such a fiercely competitive industry, it is imperative that Stephen and the team at Archipix by SPP work to differentiate the firm against others, to mark the company out as the best choice for clients.
