In this year’s Architecture Awards, Natureza Urbana has received recognition as Best Completed Public Space Family Attraction Project 2024 (Brazil) for the Capivari State Park in São Paulo. Completed in 2022, the Capivari State Park is a stunning space that has become a revered example of Brazilian landscape architecture. Prior to the project, the Capivari neighbourhood lacked attractions, causing the public to go elsewhere in the region for amusement. One of the project’s main objectives was to revitalise the area to attract a diverse audience. The Capivari State Park was developed in several phases, beginning with access improvements and parking. These developments were followed by the urbanisation of the park and the development of buildings including a commercial plaza offering food service and stores. All elements from the landscaping to the signposting were designed with maximum harmony in mind, to complement the environment's natural and historical features. The finished project is rich in beauty and a true testament of Natureza Urbana’s commitment to sustainable innovation. Pedro Lira, Founder of Natureaz Urbana, says, “We have a very unique approach to nature and the elements that are part of each project. We do not just get to the land and start designing a building, we create solutions for each place. We use regenerative design methodology, nature-based solutions, and climate change solutions.
