This allows us to design a home that truly reflects their dynamics and personal characters.” Prior to commencing a residential design, The JK Designs team strives to gain deep insights into the inner workings of clients in order to produce their dream design. The firm is distinctive in its offering of unlimited design changes and unrestricted 3Ds and videos. Many architectural firms limit the number of changes clients are allowed to make or charge an extra fee for additional 3D views. This can be extremely limiting to clients, leaving them to accept designs that they are not 100% happy with because they don’t want to incur more costs. JK Designs is dedicated to working with clients until they are completely satisfied with their plans and providing them with the best solution for their property needs. Most recently, JK Designs had the opportunity to design Thulani Lodge, a striking property located inside a game reserve bordering the Kruger National Park. The lodge posed numerous challenges with the firm having to be extremely sensitive to the environment and not remove a single tree in its construction while incorporating stunning views of the river and watering hole. Some additional challenges included designing a building able to withstand curious elephants, who may confuse the swimming pool or toilets for water sources during dry periods, and creating maximum airflow without allowing snakes into the building. JK Designs is particularly proud of how the finished project responds thoughtfully to the environment while celebrating the magic of the Kruger reserve. With several exciting projects lined up in San Francisco, the Dominican Republic, and Spain, JK Designs cannot wait to further increase its international exposure.
