The pandemic has caused many employees and employers to realise that remote working can be very successful and satisfying. “This fact, along with large numbers of people fleeing the cities, is causing our desirable area to explode. The lack of both skilled and unskilled labour is, however, a limiting factor for us.” Recently, Skyline completed a large project – a 9,600 square foot vacation home on the Big Mountain. The client, who hails from the Midwest, was keen to use an elderly architect he had used previously. Whilst Ryan and the team faced challenges as both the firm and the architect had very different ways of working, it proved a worthwhile experience. “Building practices vary across the country,” he explains. “It was a challenge to work with an architect that was used to different building practices while trying to meet the clients’ desires and expectations. Fortunately, the clients were a dream to work with, which was a key factor in our success.” Further success, in the form of being awarded the prestigious accolade of Best Custom Home Builder – Montana, was recently bestowed on the company and Ryan and the team are keen to ensure this reputation continues into the future. We explain in detail why we need profit and overhead line items in our budgets. We go to great extents to minimize change orders and get as much included in the original budget as possible. Our monthly invoicing is set up so the client knows exactly where he is financially and within the schedule.
