His family were builders, and after being surrounded by the building trade all his life and gaining a wealth of experience, he put the two together and Hobday Solutions was born. There are many challenges to overcome when working in this environment and they cannot be treated as conventional sites. They are working hospitals and so the welfare and comfort of staff and patients is always a priority. Hobday Solutions is proud that its staff were classed as keyworkers during the pandemic – although materials were difficult to get hold of to do any groundworks, or employees were railed to set up testing stations and welfare stations for NHS staff. The company has also been finding the effects of HS2 difficult. Materials such as cement are being swallowed up by the works which means there is a shortage amongst the construction sector. This also includes wagon drivers – Hobday Solutions finds its increasingly difficult to get materials delivered as there is just no one to drive the trucks. Looking ahead, Hobday Solutions will be watching carefully in regards to COVID and will be ready to action whatever work the NHS requires it to do. It will also be completing some ongoing jobs by the end of the year, with some large works planned for next year.
