BUILD 2019 Construction & Engineering Awards 110 Greater City Mechanical: Best Mechanical Contractor – Northern Ontario nitially established in 2005 to provide mechanical contracting services in Northern Ontario, Greater City Mechanical’s technical expertise and pride of workmanship has come to guarantee any projects’ success. In the beginning the company set up its office and shop in Val Caron to carry on the business of mechanical construction and sheet metal construction, to service the commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial sectors. To this very day, Greater City Mechanical strives on customer satisfaction by completing quality projects on time and within budget. Brothers Chris Patrick, and Kirk Patrick, both being fully licensed plumbers and pipefitters, are partners in the firm and each bring their ingenuity and experience to ensure a successful business. Over the years, to enhance their business they have acquired numerous safety courses as well have numerous tickets such as natural gas and propane ticket. Working for other mechanical contractors they began their career 29 years ago as apprentices since then have quickly achieved success, before starting their own business designed with excellence in mind. These dedicated partners are supported by a team of experienced professionals are experts in what they do and know how to effectively apply their skills, workmanship and customer service excellence to assist all clients with their individual needs. These knowledgeable staff are dependable, reliable and excel at offering personal service to all of Greater City Mechanical’s valued customers, each and every one of whom is treated as an individual so that they achieve the exact outcome they desire for their project. I Among Greater City Mechanical’s recent successful projects is its work on the Cliff Fielding Research, an exciting new 60,000-square-foot facility, located in Founders’ Square. It features four capstone innovation labs, a material analysis lab, environmental and soil mechanics lab, prototype development and machine shop, integrated software lab, a hydraulics and fluid mechanics lab, a lecture theatre as well as much-needed space for the award-winning Bharti School of Engineering. The Jim Fielding Innovation and Commercialization Space will encourage the local community to foster their innovative ideas, develop new products and deliver them to the marketplace. The Norinne E. Perdue Central Analytical Facility allows faculty and graduate students to train on specialized instruments and expand their horizons with new research collaborations. The new building also features a Research Centres Collaboration Hub – bringing together innovative minds across the Laurentian community. Having provided innovative support which has helped to create this unique space, Greater City Mechanical are proud of it and look forward to working on even more exciting and creative projects such as this one of the years to come.
