One recent example of the success of this approach was Fuse’s work on a property condition assessment of a newly constructed mid-rise building in Miami Beach. The client was the Condominium Association, and the team was tasked to complete a thorough condition assessment of the building exterior and interior and report any construction, design or maintenance T deficiencies. fuse consulting engineers implemented significant technology and software to complete this project and allow a more cost effective and efficient solution to their client. While the technology helped the team to deliver the most informational and detailed deliverable to the client, Fuse’s challenges included how to effectively implement the technology in a way that was comfortable to its client. The firm’s technology included a complete database for all site documentation, photographs, drawings and notes with pinpointed GPS locations for all deficiencies found on site. In addition, Fuse implemented drone assessments to document and assess inaccessible locations on the roof and facade. The team also utilized the drone technology to provide thermal imaging of the roof membrane. The technology implemented helped Fuse to acquire much more information much more efficiently. This allowed the client to access all project information in real time as well as allow the team to deliver information quickly and effectively. The database allowed the team to eliminate 80% of the back-office workload that consisted of organizing site photographs, notes and sketches. This approach helped achieve success for the client and provided them with a unique solution.
