We invited Dr. Axel Bruder, Member of the Board of RENOLIT , to tell us more. pecialist film manufacturer RENOLIT has been producing high-quality plastic films and products for over 70 years. To ensure that our customers can rely on this promise of quality, more than 4,700 employees at over 30 locations around the world are constantly developing new innovative products.” The firm’s award-winning solution, RENOLIT REFACE is a self- adhesive high-performance film that can refresh and change the colour of a building’s facade. The film can generally be applied to all solid or smooth facade panels and coffers made from painted or coated metal. None of the preparatory work needed when painting, such as sanding, masking or priming, is required when this film is used. As such, this unique film coating saves time and money. The use of acrylate adhesive, whose full adhesive effect only develops after 24 hours, and a special technology, which allows any trapped air to be released through micro-channels in the backing paper, ensures that the film is applied correctly, without air bubbles. S Weather-resistant, easy to maintain and a long warranty, the film consists of a total of three thin layers: PVDF-layer, PMMA-layer and a Vinyl Base Film. This protects it against UV rays, makes it durable and easy to clean. Provided that the film is applied by RENOLIT -trained employees, it is guaranteed to maintain its colour and adhere to the facade for at least ten years. Overall, Axel believes that this innovative product has the potential to provide clients with the innovative coating solution they need. In his concluding comments he explores the firm’s international appeal and how this is driving it to even greater success. For more than a year now, the high-performance film from Worms has revitalised the hotel’s facade. The lobby and hotel corridors have also been decorated with RENOLIT REFACE. World-famous conceptual artist Daniel Buren and French star designer Ora-ïto worked together on this project.
