To celebrate the firm’s success in this year’s Construction & Engineering Awards we share an overview of how far the company has come since its inception over 15 years ago. riginally established 2004 by Paul Seager Commfire initially provided commissioning of fire alarm systems to fire alarm companies. Over the years the firm has evolved, and today it offers sales, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and disabled refuge call systems. This extensive service offering is provided to a wide range of discerning clients, including a number of costa coffee branches, schools, office development in various locations in the southeast, hotels and healthcare providers. One of Commfire’s current projects is for Metchet Court near Romsey, Hampshire. During the 2018 school summer holiday the firm carried out phase one of the fire alarm system upgrade, from an ageing radio fire alarm system to the latest technology O addressable fire alarm system. For 2019 the firm is about to start phase two of the project, with the final completion set for the summer holidays in 2020. This project has the usual challenges in maintaining a functioning fire alarm system. As Commfire carries out the installation and commissioning of a new system, the challenges are made more complicated because the premises are a historic building with decorative features, however the firm’s expert team are more than capable of overcoming these challenges and providing their clients with the service they need to remain safe and compliant with the latest fire safety regulations.
