When Ruthard first established pur natur it was with a simple but powerful vision: to create an awareness for natural perfection. To do so, pur natur sustainably sources high quality Douglas Fir and Oak from the plentiful, ever-regenerating stock in the vast Black Forest to make floorboards for clients across the world, thereby seamlessly integrating the perfect functionality and elegance of nature into the homes of pur natur clients and encouraging interaction between modern living and the environment. Initially created as a consultancy for renovations and building projects looking to incorporate wood into their designs, pur natur entered the wood trade in 1990 with a much more hands- on approach. By 2000, pur natur had become a supplier of the wooden boards of an exclusive and well-known producer, for whom pur natur produced more than 500,000 square metres of the best Douglas fir solid wood boards from the Black Forest in the eight years that followed. This partnership came to an end in 2008, when pur natur entered the product market for finished treated solid wood boards, and began to sell high quality terrace boards in addition to its interiors collection. Since then, pur natur has continued to grow its collection, developing its production and distribution processes and expanding its reputation for sustainable and responsible operations. Almost a decade ago, Ruthard was joined by his son, Steffen, who was instrumental in strengthening the business during a period of economic crisis and is responsible for the record figures that pur natur is today able to boast. “I want to create an awareness for natural perfection.” The words of Ruthard Männle, Founder of pur natur, are the enduring ambition and legacy of the firm he has created.
