Based in Denmark, the goal of the company is a simple one: to enhance biodiversity in the urban environment. Throughout their process, they give their clients new knowledge, methods and hardware in order to secure long-term success. In an ever more urban world, we could all benefit from more spots of green. The number of clients that Altan-Alferne caters for reflects the growing need for a green, vibrant environment. It is heartening to see that a lot of their clients include large corporations and institutions, as well as private customers. The driving idea behind their work is that enhancing the biodiversity in cities and built-up areas will help people to thrive. The urban environment is at risk of becoming grey and dour, which can have a negative and oppressive impact on our wellbeing. Introducing more plant life and attracting animals not only makes the areas we live in look nicer, but can also have a positive effect on our mental health. To this end, Altan-Alferne have spent a decade researching and developing; inventing the best methods and hardware to help them in their mission, and allow others to do the same. When approaching a new project, Altan-Alferne take the time to learn and prepare. They listen to their clients and explore the areas that they are to renovate. They make sketches and storyboards and collaborate with their clients to make sure everything fits their needs. The team judge their success by returning to a site two or three years later and comparing the new growth to their development photos. It is all about the client’s ownership of the product that they deliver. For example, Altan-Alferne have just finished a set of therapeutic gardens for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, located at their R&D factory in Aalborg, Denmark. Working in close collaboration with their HR staff and head of real estate, they made a number of green designs and places to rest and socialise. It has created a refreshing space for both employees and visitors to enjoy. The gardens are part of a Best Urban Garden Design/Build Company - Denmark Altering the face of grey and urban areas, Altan-Alferne stand out as a company using ingenuity and research to make long-lasting, beneficial changes to the environments where we spend the majority of our time. This is a capillary self-watering pot for growing trees, bushes and perennials in places you wouldn’t normally expect them, such as rooftops, paved courtyards and other harsh environments. They have already been booked by a lot of clients for 2021, showing a solid mix of corporate clients, nursing homes, schools and private clients with roof terraces and balconies.
