BUILD Q1 2019

Build Q1 2019 20 Nov18799 rom humble beginnings, Surbine Recycling began life in 2016, although the initial idea came about when Founder and CEO Sunil Singh was working for an engineering company in Dubai. Later, when he returned to India, he decided to use the knowledge he had gained working in the global engineering space to jumpstart his entrepreneurial zest. With an exciting idea in hand, he approached several financial institutions and BFSIs to secure funding and support for an exciting new venture. Working hard to secure funding and drive interest in his idea, he later met other partners, Pankaj Joisar and Sankalp Joisar, who soon joined togeth- er with Sunil to setup a recycling and refining plant in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which went on to become the centre of Surbine Recycling’s work. Today, the company is recognised as a key player in India’s bourgeon- ing e-waste recycling market. With the country producing around two million tons of e-waste every year, this is an exciting time to be a part of the industry, and Surbine Recycling works hard to be at the forefront of industry development and offer its valued clients a cutting-edge solution that cannot be found elsewhere. The innovative technology the company uses is robust, sustainable and clean, ensuring zero waste discharge, mitigating the risks associated with improper recycling and dumping of the e-waste in the landfills. As such, it also supports the growing global trend for sustainability and environmentally friendly solutions that will reduce mankind’s impact on the environment. Since inception the company has flourished, and it is now a recognised innovator and member of LEAF (the Leadership Entrepreneurship and Acceleration Foundation) TBI, which is supported by Department of Sci- ence and Technology, GOI. It is also registered with the GPCB, and has been recognised as a start-up by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, GOI. The support from private institutions and banks has been exceptional, and has helped the company to grow and flourish. Surbine Recycling : Building A Better Future From The Remains of Today Thanks to the vast wealth of experience of its Founder, Surbine Recycling uses environmentally friendly, innovative technology to recycle e-waste and turn them into high-purity metals. Having recognised the firm in our 2018 Recycling & Waste Management Awards as Best Electronic Waste Management Solutions Provider – India we profile it to find out more about the secrets behind its phenomenal success. F These accreditations and support has allowed Surbine Recycling to help organise the often poorly managed e-waste recycling market and provide a truly new approach. The firm offers two core services to its clientele: PCB recycling, Base and precious metal Refining. Li Ion battery recycling plant is being setup and should be operational within two months. These three core solutions ensure that clients can get the most out of their time working with this dynamic enterprise and have one key contact for the majority of their requirements. Thanks to a dedicated team of over 37 experienced staff, Surbine Recy- cling is able to continually enhance its service offering to the benefit of both its clients and the environment. Suppliers and staff alike are treated with the same courteous, supportive approach that the firm uses with its clients, and as such from the beginning the company has managed to retain all of its suppliers and continue to work alongside them for the betterment of their industry. Whilst hiring and retaining exceptional talent was initially a challenge, the firm’s new approach, which involves training eager young engineering graduates, has led it to gain a strong workforce of experts all of whom are driven towards developing new solutions that will solve challenges their clients face within the e-waste and recycling industry. As part of this ongoing focus on developing exciting and innovative new solutions, in March 2018, the company successfully started to refine precious earth metals. The company is now able to produce Gold with the purity of 99.9%. In addition to this, the company extracts other metals like Silver, Copper, Tin, and Palladium. This move into precious metals helps the firm to remain a key player in the ever-evolving Indian e-waste and recycling space. Ultimately, Surbine Recycling is dedicated to becoming the largest e-waste recycling facility in the Indian sub-continent and has aggres- sive plans to expand globally. This will remain its ongoing focus as this dynamic and innovative firm continues to flourish and embrace its bright and exiting future.
