7 Q1 2020 BUILD London. As well as heading up his own firm, the good professor also teaches Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Asyut, and co-founded the Board of Chancellors at the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo. As if that wasn’t enough, Professor Daef has also been the consultant of Interior Design for His Majesty, the King of Eswatini for the last ten years. With his work speaking for itself, Professor Daef’s work for the King of Eswatini looks exactly as a royal palace should. Effortlessly combining gold and white with an array of colours such as red, blue, green, and purple, the designs bring together the opulence of royalty with the comfort of any five-star residence. Just one of the disciplines that BONIAN misr® work tirelessly in, is architecture. Whether it be residential villas and apartment buildings, civic and cultural governmental buildings, health and educational facilities, or offices and retail spaces, there is nothing that the firm won’t be excited to help with. What begins with a creatively-devised integrated design solution quickly evolves and becomes an inspired structure that can fulfil a myriad of uses, no matter the client or user group. Projects that the firm has worked on include everything from small villas to royal residences, housing estates and hotel facilities, to landscaped gardens and libraries. As well as the common and widespread properties that BONIAN misr® and Professor Daef have worked on, the firm has also been responsible for conceptually visioning, designing and working on a public zoo and Olympic City within Egypt. Buildings can range from slick, modern and geometrically-intriguing, to classic, elegant and regal for any one of a number of uses. With exquisite combinations of white and gold adorning the outside of the building in a number of patterns, stretching pillars and delightful windows, the residential architecture work harkens back to a time where opulence and fine living meant class and power. For the modern resident, colours are more restrained, and style is instead expressed through form and shape. Blocks and square shapes fit together and create buildings that really capture the eye, or slicker and more rounded buildings offer earthy tones to reconnect residents with nature. Each building is perfectly complemented by the lush greenery of Africa’s wildlife, and the clear blue skies above Egypt’s blistering sunshine. Once the architecture and exteriors have been masterfully realised and brought to life, Professor Daef and his crack team at BONIAN misr® set about ensuring that the interior design expertly complements every aspect already established. By designing a building from the inside-out as much from the outside-in, there is a creative sense of continuity and connection between the interior and exterior designs. For the team at the firm, the ultimate goal is to allow every building a sense of place, whilst remaining functional and elegant. Securing and implementing the right furniture to complement a bold colour scheme has seen many BONIAN misr® projects transformed from simply stunning buildings into all-encompassing, awe-inspiring spaces of luxury and modernity. A multidisciplinary firm of the modern age, BONIAN misr® continues to push the limits of what it can achieve, making full use of the wisdom and leadership that CEO Professor Mohamed Ayman Daef continues to offer with every passing day. Having secured twenty-five years of success in collaboration with major Egyptian government’s establishments and Eswatini royalty, the firm will be looking to secure its next twenty-five years with even more. BONIAN misr® is currently developing a fascinating design concept for the Kingdom of Eswatini in Africa. This project is the “Memorial Park” of Eswatini, an important cultural landmark for the region, with construction sought to be completed sometime in 2022. The project’s design concept is guided by the National Development Strategy – Vision 2022 – which, in turn, has been outlined by His Majesty King Mswati III. As such, upon completion, the project will become a vital vehicle to bring the people of Eswatini together, and to boast the country’s rich cultural heritage.
