To begin, Jackie provides a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into its clientele. “With two fully licensed sites in Peterhead which are covered by PPC permits, we are able to both store and treat waste accordingly. Typically, the services we provide include waste fluid and sludge treatment, while offering an on-site chemist and laboratory. Realising the requirement for continuous improvement and best in class on-site remediation and re-use, in 2014, we designated one of our sites as an R&D treatment facility.” Since the beginning, remaining at the forefront of technological innovations has proved to be a key factor behind the firm’s success, as Jackie explains further. “Investment in specialist technologies has ensured we can offer a waste treatment solution that is continually ahead of the competition. Furthermore, using a combination of enhanced chemical separation, disk-stack centrifuge and heated separation tanks has ensured waste oil can be re-used and any remaining water can be cleaned by our other technologies. The latest generation DAF system, combined with our chemist and extensive chemical catalogue enables us able to treat and dispose of a variety of fluids reducing TSS, COD, BOD and dispersed oil resulting in water acceptable for on-site disposal to municipal sites.” To further distinguish themselves from the crowd, the firm also offer a consultancy service to its clients, as Jackie points out. “Typically, we can offer help in all aspects of the three ISO standards. Incident or investigation reporting, help with internal audits and preparation for external audits. Over the years, our requirements for fabrication, HGV maintenance and consulting have increased. With this increase, came the decision to manage our third-party requirements in house, by launching our Fabrication, HGV Maintenance & Consulting divisions. Naturally, this further ensures of our commitment to provide customers with the best possible service throughout our entire operations.” S Regarding its internal culture, much of the firm’s work evolves around teamwork. Bringing the interview to a close, Jackie discusses the recent impact of COVID-19 upon the business, before outlining some of its plans for the coming year and beyond. “Almost instantly, we adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to go through the COVID 19 verification process. By doing so, we were the first company in the UK to have the certification.
