BUILD Q2 2018

21 Q2 2018 Build stablished in 2002, Tiffany Design Group has participated in a wide range of design projects both in the public sector and the private sector, including residences, retail shops, restaurants, educational institutions, and offices. With a firm focus on environmental protection and health, the company wants to influence others with its eco-friendly design, and ultimately see green home products become a more focal and important design trend. The company provides services for the renovation of household items, as the team believe that the lifespan of household items should have a long existence, rather than be changed on an annual basis, and this contributes considerably to helping the environment. Eva tells us about her own personal background, alluding to what factors led her to becoming involved in Interior Design, before going on to say which particular aspects of her background and experience she draws on in her present role. “When I was a kid, I already liked things about design and I didn’t like repeat- ed work, as I like to think new things. Thus, I think the design work is very challenging and it fits my personality and interests. “Having graduated from high school, I was admitted to the oldest design school in Hong Kong and achieved excellent results. Thanks to my com- mitment to my work, both the employer and the client gave me unanimous praise.” As well as producing exceptional home product designs, Eva and the team work hard to deliver excellent customer service, and in the process, exceed the expectations of clients. This is a crucial aspect of the firm’s achievements, and Eva comments on what methods the team uses when approaching a new project which ensure that the overall outcome meets the desired outcome of both sides. “When first dealing with a client, we keep an artistic eye on colour and shapes and work alongside our clients and take the time to understand their requests and concerns. We are always determined to deliver the best design and products and incorporate all the client’s objectives in the project. Plus, we are confident in our work and we consider our designs to be elegant and engag- ing from the first impression.” With the climate varying in Hong Kong, Tiffany Design Group must take this into consideration when designing home furniture for clients, particularly when choosing certain materials. Eva talks about the interior design market within Hong Kong, and mentions how the team pays great attention to detail when choosing materials which benefit the environment. Saving the World Through Design Tiffany Design Group Limited is an award-winning company headquartered in Hong Kong, which is dedicated to offering comprehensive services, with an emphasis on interior design and project management as well as landscape design. We spoke to Eva Chan as we aim to find out more about the success of the firm. E “Hong Kong is a small city with a dense population. People have limited activ- ity space. How to make good use of space has become a basic requirement for Hong Kong designers. In addition, the climate of Hong Kong basically has four different seasons: spring is humid, summer is hot and humid, cool and dry in autumn and winter. We need choices highly stable material, such as glass, stone, tiles and furniture plywood; natural coatings can decompose or neutralise indoor air pollutants, odours, bacteria, and formaldehyde. We value materials to emphasise the healthy environment that many people need.” Interestingly, Eva believes that enticing clients to work with the team is one of the most important aspects of her work, as it is this which gives her and her team the source of inspiration required to create outstanding designs. “For us, the pursuit of customers tastes is our source of inspiration and meet- ing client requirements and needs to create very spaciously, energetic living environments within that are key.” However, keen to emphasise the importance of environmentally-friendly design, Eva explains how going forwards, making the home ‘green’ will be a focal point of the design, and it is this belief which sets the firm apart from its competitors according to Eva. “Here at Tiffany Design Group, our designers believe that “green homes” has become an important design trend. As such, we will develop from this aspect in the future. Our designers focus on environmental protection, and this is the major difference between us and our competitors, as well as the fact that since 2009, we have introduced Landscape Architects to serve our customers.” In her concluding comments, Eva believes that Tiffany Design Group has a bright future ahead, as her focused, determined and ambitious team will con- tinue to lead from the front when producing designs which will not only satisfy the client, but also benefit the environment in an extremely healthy way. “Moving forwards, our company plans to focus on the benefits of a terrace and/or roof garden. They significantly reduce the effects of heat on a building and provide much needed urban outdoor gathering spaces, plus, using a roof also reduces the cost of roof maintenance and increases its lifespan. It is also a great way to create opportunities for urban agriculture.” Company: Tiffany Design Group Ltd.
