28 Build Q2 2018 stablished in 2007, the passionate design team at Arc Design are award-winning architects, with their success based on an innate ability to gain an understanding of a client’s needs whilst still focusing on quality in design. Founded by Brian Davies and his son, Mark, Arc Design is comprised of a medium-sized design team which operate from its offices in the beautiful surrounds of Willow Grove, Delgany, County Wicklow. Holding an impressive standing throughout the industry, the practice produces highly detailed, functional, energy efficient buildings in a variety of design styles with an emphasis on maximising light, space and use of materials. Furthermore, the practice’s body of work is broad, with commis- sions including private houses, interiors, mixed developments, housing estate schemes, sports facilities, and Public houses. Embedded in the company culture of Arc Design is the team’s belief in the importance of engaging in the process of getting to know client’s expec- tations and working hard to surpass them. The team look at what spaces are made and engage in learning how they are constructed to the highest quality. The team approaches each design exercise as a joint effort, and this is one that demands an intimate understanding of both the client and brief before the design process can begin. Operating with a unique approach, the firm do not follow particular trends, but rather come up with their own innovative designs. Each scheme is designed based on the clients’ specific needs. Each and every project that the team designs is completely bespoke.
