Recognised as Most Outstanding Full-Service Interior Design Studio Specialising in Creative and Bespoke Projects, 2022 - Nassau, The Bahamas in this issue of BUILD magazine, we take a closer look at what the studio has to offer clients. owree Tynes grew up in the Bahamas in the 1980s, where she got to watch the increase of development throughout the 700 islands, and the history, art, culture and architectural influences left a lasting impression. In the 1990s, she relocated to Georgia for high school, and this is where the sparks flew and she discovered her great love for the arts. Later moving to Florida to study interior design at Ringling College of Art & Design, Lowree interned at one of the leading hospitality design firms in the world, Hirsh Bender in Atlanta, and later moved to Orlando to work at Nieman Contract Interiors. After eight years in the United States, Lowree wanted to return home, despite the advice of her friends and family. After a lengthy job search back home in the Bahamas, she was employed by Baha Mar, an experience that she cherishes to this day, along with getting to work alongside world famous hospitality architect, Dianna Wong. After all these years, the two are still friends and talk often about life and design. Lowree has also worked at SMG, focusing on millwork and residential design, this hands-on experience being very valuable in increasing her knowledge of design-build. Later, Lowree joined the Roomers Limited team, where she got a great understanding for design business, budgeting, logistics and final installs. In 2015, she launched Lowree Tynes Design, her full-service interior design studio offering services in residential and commercial designs. The studio has since worked on several residential designs in Old Fort Bay, Ocean Club, Albany, Lyford Cay, Shirley Slope, Sandyport, the Abacos, and Harbor Island. These are joined by commercial and hospitality design projects such as Fusion, The L British Colonial Hilton, HLB Galanis, Crypto Isle, Queen’s St Office, Da Blue Hole Restaurant/Bar, and The Big Picture. The LTD team’s focus is on designing clients’ interiors so they are functional, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, tailored to their taste and inspired by authentic island lifestyle, while leaving no stone unturned. And when it comes to install day, it will appear effortless in its charm and simplicity, however the designers understand that even on the most planned project, there can be last-minute changes. They always have a bag of gadgets handy to make sure each space is perfect. Lowree commented, “The joy of seeing our client enter their completed space for the first time is one of the most rewarding parts of our job.” LTD’s designers also stage homes in order to make them more appealing while they’re on the market, ensuring the potential buyer has room to envision putting their own personal touch on the property. Staging is important because it adds value for the final sale. Ultimately, it’s easy to see how LTD has achieved such success within the 2022 Design and Build Results, with Lowree and her team’s passion and talent for crafting outstandingly beautiful spaces. These spaces bring joy to all who reside in them, enhancing their wellbeing and really giving them something to marvel at.
