42 Build Q3 2018 ince its inception in 2015, Wonder Wall have been dedicated to the commercialisation of panels of artificial plants, which are used for the decoration of environments, providing them with a more natural look. With jobs spread throughout Portugal and abroad, namely Angola and Cape Verde, the company expects to consolidate its position in the market in the coming years, becoming a reference in respect of artificial plants. At Wonder Wall, the firm’s main principle of their company is to only offer the best products in the market to their clients. Quality is the base of all their work. João begins the interview by explaining the approach the firm uses when undertaking a new project, and what marks them out as the best option compared to their competitors. “First of all, we have to understand the project and the expectations of the client. Then, we have to look at the solutions which we can provide and the different variables. These can be the design or engineering of the structures. Following on, we provide the best proposal for the project. “In comparison to our competitors, our main difference is creating only high-quality products, sharing with the clients all the options and be very attentive to details. As for the projects, we like to participate from the beginning and support our clients in all aspects of the process.” When discussing how the firm are able to ensure that they create innova- tive solutions to maintain their remarkable success, João touches on how the team are constantly aware of the constantly changing market. “Here at Wonder Wall, our work is to be fully aware of any new solutions which may arise, as well working with the best partners in their respected field. It is fundamental for us to innovate all the time, especially in all areas of our work. We are always looking for new products of a diverse range of types that we believe can provide additional value to our clients’ project.” Speaking of success, João is keen to highlight one project in particular that stands out amongst their extraordinary portfolio. “All the projects are challenging, however the one that we can consider to be the most successful is the 450m2 artificial green wall in the centre of Lisbon at Avenida da Liberdade. We had to make the installations in four weeks, so we needed to have prepared everything to ensure that were no delays and all the variables were studied. In addition to this, we are ready to make it. It ran quiet well and we were able to complete the whole project in three weeks.” Hyper Realism, Less Maintenance Wonder Wall is a company dedicated to the commercialisation and installation of artificial plants and vertical gardens. Following their recent success in BUILD’s 2018 Residential Top 50, where they were named as Lisbon’s Leading Supplier of Artificial Plants, 2018, we profiled the firm, and spoke to João Miguel Salgueiro who kindly provided us with an insight into the firm. Noting on any challenges the firm have had to over- come and how they have strengthened Wonder Wall’s company values. “Using artificial plants and vertical gardens is a fast-growing market. Over the last couple of years, it has become a must have and now you can see it in numerous places. As such, there are less quality products which are appearing in the market at lower prices. Which is why we are having to explain in detail the differences between our products, and those of which are of a lesser quality. Our biggest challenge is to chase the best solutions in the market, and presenting to the clients only piece which are high quality.” Moving forward, Wonder Wall wants to be a recognised for providing high quality artificial plants, and global solutions. Looking ahead to what the future holds, the firm have numerous projects in the pipeline, however at this moment, the João is unable to say anymore due to the clients want to keep it secret.
