BUILD Q3 2018

Build Q3 2018 8 ince 1992, Michel Niedbala has been managing his creation Golf Optimum. The experience and know-how of the owner, and the firm derives from knowledge gained across the length and breadth of the golfing world. Michel’s interest does not end with the designing and construction of a golfing complex, but also covers marketing aspects and everything that is related to knowledge of customers, in the widest possible way. As a result of his experience and past knowledge, Michel creates his golf courses using his creative spirit, working with the freedom to deliver wonderful venues, something which many of the clients and partners that Michel works with are fascinated by. Essentially, Michel’s main aim and mission is to encourage his team to be proactive in their designs and approach, and use the ambitions of the developer to take on board the experience and wellbeing of future users, all at each stage of the project. Evidence of this outstanding creativity was seen at the end of 2017, when Golf Optimum completed a golf course in Bordeaux. That project, covering 250 acres, offers a championship 18-hole course with a new particularity, that of solving a flood zone problem on the edges of the city of Bordeaux, which allows the creation of a rail/road junction (trucks carried by trains). In other words, the project did not merely address purely sporting or recrea- tional issues, but encouraged a wonderful mix of nature and engineering. New Golf Course Project in Roissy-en-France (Well-known Airport near Paris) Fundamentally, the project under construction, concentrates systems for recovering rainwater in the area, depolluting it by plant purification, and ultimately reusing it for watering the golf course. This innovative solution helps save thousands of cubic metres of water and make a virtuous contri- bution to the recycling of polluted water. Optimising the Wonderful Features of Golf Courses Around the World Dedicated to designing and creating mesmerising golf courses, the team at Golf Optimum look to optimise a player’s golfing experience, with luxurious scenery and memorable holes, the designs of the company are unique. We profile Golf Course Architect, Michel Niedbala, as well as the elements of the Golf Courses which Michel deems most important, as we aim to find out more about some of the attributes which make the venues so enticing.
