59 Q3 2021 BUILD Mar21089 Hats Off to This Hands-On Approach Operating in the UK and Ireland, CField Construction is a leading, multidisciplinary Building and Civil Engineering Contractor. By building both a sturdy foundation and an extensive portfolio of experience, CField has earned success at the BUILD Design and Build Awards 2021. Field Construction is a family-owned company that provides construction services to both public and private partners in Ireland and the UK. CField’s goal is to develop long-term relationships with clients and supply chain, establishing meaningful and genuine partnerships from the outset and see this as key to the success of the business. CField consistently pushes itself to deliver the highest quality projects with an unparalleled, excellent client experience, while offering sustainable and rewarding employment opportunities to its team. Among CField’s portfolio of recently completed projects are the extension to St. Coleman College, Midleton, Cork; extension to the existing production area and refurbishment works at Merck Millipore K2 Building, Cork; Lee Road Medical Clinic and the conversion of a derelict 18th century prison into a 70-bedroom luxury hotel in the South West of England. Construction challenges during the conversion and restoration of grade-II listed Bodmin Jail were plentiful. Bomb damage, occupying bats and pigeons, structural surprises, heritage constraints, along with a global pandemic and Brexit thrown in, were some of the difficulties the project team met with and overcame throughout the project. The CField team worked with Twelve Architects, Total Project Integration (TPI), ARUP, and Interstate to deliver a quality product for their client, Rob Cox of Mallino Development Group. According to CField Chief Executive, Sheila Gisler, “success has only been possible through genuine collaboration amongst the entire project team who have been extraordinary in thinking outside the box and reformulating plans as new challenges presented themselves”. CField has the utmost care for the safety of the public and workers under its supervision. A culture of ‘Plan Safe - Work Safe - Home Safe’ is supported across the business where the ultimate goal is to get all stakeholders home safely. Promoting safety, respect, integrity, and fairness, CField interacts with and supports its stakeholders’ ambitions in a sustainable and innovative way. The CField team is passionate about finding ways to give back, through charity or community work. The next such event is the CField 100 & Social Day, being held on 4th September at C Coachford Community Hall, Co.Cork, where 100% of funds raised will be donated to Marymount Hospice and Breakthrough Cancer Research. If interested in taking part in the 100km cycle, 50km cycle, family walk or kids activities, please contact [email protected]. CField is committed to working closely with client teams to maximise value and produce a quality product in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. Time and again, it is their flexibility and cooperative attitude that clients highlight as their greatest strength.
