16 Build Q4 2018 nvari Design is an interior design company focused on high-end residential and commercial projects. Offering a full spectrum of services ranging from initial consultation/concept/design through to build and completion, Anvari Design have accumu- lated over the years a trusted circle of partners who they work with to bring concepts to life while also offering project management service. Parinaz begins by diving into further detail about the overall mission the team at Anvari Design aim to achieve, as well as the approach taken when working alongside one another on a new project. “Client satisfaction is my primary goal. Every project is different and has its own specific challenges. Our objective is to navigate these challenges, ex- ploring the realms of creativity and design to develop unique concepts that meet clients’ functional as well as aesthetic requirements and preferences. “Truly understanding a client’s needs and desires is key. I take the time to establish a deeper connection with our clients to really understand them and their objectives. This brings tremendous value to our ability to deliver on and exceed clients’ expectations. We believe beauty lies firmly in the details, so pay as much attention to the details as we do to the overall design.” Over the years, Anvari Design’s have accumulated a plethora of outstanding pieces of work within their portfolio. Whilst on the topic of their projects, Pari- naz is keen to highlight one of the firm’s most successful recent projects. “The most notable and challenging recent project has to be the Portman Square lobby refurbishment project that this award relates to. We were working with a very tight budget for which the client expected a high impact design. The lighting sculpture was a critical feature of the design and pre- sented several challenges as it is 6x9 meters, 450 kilos in weight and sus- pended below a glass ceiling atrium, so you could not simply hang it from the ceiling. In addition, it needed to be easy and cost efficient to take down every few months for cleaning and inspection. There was a phase during which I felt like we had taken on an engineering project, not a design project. Also, there were times when it looked like it would not be possible to safely install the light sculpture. However, we worked with a tremendous group of technical experts and a highly experienced property management team to find solutions to the multitude of challenges we faced and got it done.” Speaking of success, Anvari Design were selected in BUILD’s Architecture Awards as the Best Interior Design Company 2018 – Buckinghamshire. When discussing what the award means for the firm, Parinaz reflects on which aspects of their work they believe have helped them to achieve this outstanding success. Beauty Lies in the Details Anvari Design is a specialist interior design firm, founded by Parinaz Nia, focused on high-end projects in the commercial and residential sectors across the United Kingdom and abroad. The firm was recently recognised in BUILD’s Architecture Awards, where it was awarded the accolade Best Interior Design Company 2018 – Buckinghamshire & Best London Commercial Design Project: Portman Square. Following their win, we profiled the firm and spoke to Parinaz Nia who revealed some of the secrets behind their success. A “I am delighted and honoured to have received this award. I always strive to be different. Not for the sake of it, but because this is how we push boundaries and create unique design ideas. That was certainly the case with Portman Square.” Currently, we are in the middle of a technological revolution, which is impact- ing every industry, including interior design. As such, the extent to which we use technology varies from project to project, as Parinaz explains. “In some instances, we use software to bring ideas to life for clients before any physical work has begun. The Portman Square light sculpture felt like a complex mathematical equation at times and a higher degree of reliance on technology was required to ensure the viability, safety and function of the project.” Looking ahead to what the future holds, Parinaz signs off by revealing some of the plans that lie in the pipeline for the firm. “Moving forward, the plan is to build on the momentum that we have generated by continuing to focus on delivering creative and original designs that are also functional. The best way to plan for the future is to focus on the present, our current projects. That philosophy has served us well so far and I believe it will continue to do so.
