The empathic approach from the One Design team and the close relationships we build with new and existing clients has helped over the years to deliver repeat design requests and a growth for the business in an area of commercial decline. The increased growth of business resulting from enhanced technology, improved customer service and competitive pricing will see the practice team grow by at least another 30% in the coming year something we are very excited about. So, what does the future hold? The future will be without question challenging, the current uncertainty of the economic landscape and the impact it may have will be unsure but at One Design we are strongly positioned to adapt, address and now acknowledged to deliver “award winning” design solutions to all projects in all sectors, large or small. Chris Pickard MD of One Design took time out to explain the business ethos and acknowledge the accolade and the hard work behind the scenes that has helped deliver such a coveted award. This year has been very challenging with a number of uncontrollable eco- nomic factors impacting on the growth of the construction sector and the clients we work with. However, we have successfully delivered exceptional pieces of work under some of the most, tight of timeframes meeting even our most challenging client’s expectations. All this focused endeavour has been recognised by receiving this award for Best Residential Practice West Yorkshire. One Design are very proud to accept this honour which acknowledges the hard work the team put in daily, going above and beyond to improve and deliver schemes that we can truly be proud of. We continue to listen and learn from all our clients to ensure we provide the exceptional levels of service and informed guidance that take very personal visions to fruition. As a relatively young practice with a dynamic and progressive team we are continually growing. With countless years of combined experience from our qualified Architects and architectural Technologists One Designs mission is to continually deliver a professional, customer focused cost-ef- ficient solution which has driven the significant internal investment on the development of cutting edge virtual reality technologies, improved training processes and comprehensive customer service programs. A perfect example of the One Designs team work ethic and customer fo- cused approach was the delivery of a complex, and somewhat controver- sial project in the traditional village of Embsay North Yorkshire. The brief was to develop an eco-friendly house that would be recognised as a future beacon for a traditional North Yorkshire village. The One Design team worked tirelessly to deliver the clients visions while remaining empathic to the questioning local community. The inclusion of eco-friendly elements within the design such as grey water retrieval, sedon roofing, re- newable energy sources and highly efficient south facing glazing propelled the project forward with campaigners and local counsellors eventually won over.
