We are specialists in two principle areas: Our Corporate Advisory Service focuses on the asset, treasury and property management aspects of client portfolios. We also have specialists who advise on acquisitions, disposals, rent reviews and all aspects of lease negotiations. The majority of our customers have multiple locations across the UK, including Balfour Beatty, Towergate Insurance, Smith & Nephew and Thermo Fisher. ur Building Surveying and Project Management team cover all aspects of built fabric. They can provide specialist building technical advice, negotiate dilapidations and cover all aspects of project management. We specialise in providing advice to logistics operators including TNT, CEVA, Culina and Davis Turner. Both teams will always provide an integrated service and joined up advice. There is no magical solution for keeping up to speed with emerging trends and developments in the industry. A number of our clients have been with us for 15 years or more, and so to continue to add value, it is crucial we really under- stand our clients and what they want to achieve. When working with a client, the most important point is to get beneath the skin of the client and to understand what it is they want to achieve and the various factors which will impact on decision making. Part of the process is to challenge the customer as this will not only ensure options are efficiently evaluated, but better quality solutions are developed too. We are unashamedly and single mindedly focused on acting for corporate and public sector occupiers. We work exclusively for occupiers, and are recognised for provid- ing impartial advice and non-transaction driven advice. We don’t have the conflict which arises when advising both landlords and tenants and our impartiality is not prej- udiced by the need to generate transaction driven revenue. As the UK heads out of recession and occupiers become more confident, the imbalances of the local markets become more apparent, and the need for occu- piers to take advice in market places for example, there has been virtually no new development for the last five years or so, but in a matter of months in some loca- tions, stock has completely disappeared. From retrofitting existing buildings, we have had to be more creative identifying land, partnering with developers who are prepared to design and build what our clients need. Similarly in the office markets, there are still areas of the country with little activity and stagnant market. By contrast London, Manchester and other regional capitals are vibrant with challenges of containing rental and other costs for clients. In the last 18 months, we have refocused our business by moving back into London. The principle reason for this has been to attract, develop and retain talent within the business.
