Perhaps the biggest period of transition was the change of ownership from Dick Vago to Nigel Pengelly in 2007. “When he [Dick] retired in 2007, I bought the business,” Nigel tells us. One of the clearest examples of their pioneering work can be see in their use of CO2 refrigeration. “We were the first to combine CO2 refrigeration with an air-conditioning system on a fairly large commercial (as opposed to industrial) scale,” Nigel tells us proudly. “Defying our peers, in 2015 we changed a chilled water design for the 30 000 sq. meter Eswatini Convention Centre to one which used the latest VRF technology on a grand scale.
