New £5.5 billion framework replaces Major Works framework, offering greater choice to the public sector with five lots revealed.

Scape Group has published details of its new National Construction framework for major public sector construction projects of more than £2 million. The new framework is anticipated to hold an upper value of £5.5 billion and will offer five options to the public sector, providing greater choice and capacity in response to unprecedented demand for efficiently procured and socially responsible construction services across the United Kingdom.

The National Construction Framework will replace the existing Scape Major Works Framework from May 2017. This new framework will introduce multiple contractors for the first time, with bidders able to win up to two of the three regional lots or one of the two UK-wide lots, enabling access to multiple providers on the framework. The new structure follows an extensive programme of engagement with the market and the public sector.

The five lots within the National Construction Framework will run for a period of four years and will include:

A UK-wide option for large scale projects valued at over £50 million, with a total framework value of up to £1.5 billion.
A UK-wide option for projects valued at between £10 million and £50 million, with a total framework value of up to £1.5 billion.
A regional option for projects valued between £2 million and £20 million in England and Northern Ireland up to a total framework value of £1.5 billion.
A regional option for projects valued between £2 million and £20 million in Scotland up to a total framework value of £500 million.
A regional option for projects valued between £2 million and £20 million in Wales up to a total framework value of £500 million.
